The Hindi remake of Gajini,starring Aamir Khan,has earned an estimated Rs 90 crore by selling its distribution rights. Last year, Om Shanti Om was the top grosser in distribution rights, it sold the rights to Eros for a reported Rs 73 crore.
The Indian Film Company has bagged the domestic distribution rights for the Aamir Khan starrer for an estimated Rs 53 crore.Producers Allu Arvind and Madhu Varma have sold the home video rights, overseas rights and satellite rights for another Rs 40 crore.
IFC is managed by B K Enterprises a joint venture of Viacom and Raghav Bahl.IFC distributed Superhits Jab We Met&Welcome last year.
An action thriller, the Hindi remake of Ghajini was directed by A R Murugadoss and star Asin and Jiah Khan as well. The film is slated for release in October. According to sources ADAG-owned Adlabs has most likely bagged the overseas rights for the film.
